Rebel

There’s a rebel reading books,

And it’s dangerously true.

That censorship is killing us,

Controlling what we do.

So raise your voice,

Every time they try to shut your mouth.

Let the truth be spoken,

Turn it up, and make it loud.

Let the people sing,

Let their voices all be heard.

Let the people read the books,

And every single word.

I believe in books,

Because there’s nothing they can’t do.

There’s a rebel reading books,

And that rebel’s me and you.

Magic Voice

Books contain a magic voice,

That cannot ever die.

It rallies us to change the world,

And live a better life.

It gives the power to us all,

To overcome adversities.

So if a book is banned,

Then it must be worth a read!

Third Poem

Writing the future, with books in our hands,

We create this world full of words.

It’s some kind of magic, the stories we share,

The beautiful lessons we learn.

Our voices are strong, a powerful prose,

A monument meant to be heard.

But some fear progress, and censor it all,

As books and our bodies are burned.

Writing the future, with tape on our mouths,

How can we possibly grow?

How can real change come in the end,

When banning decides what we know?

Writing the future, as pages turn,

How will our story be told?

Don’t let the dictators silence your song,

Sing as the future unfolds!
